eDeliver (Pty) Ltd with registration number 2021/304353/07 trading as eDeliver (“us”, “we”, or “our”), a duly registered South African company operating within the borders of South Africa only, operates the https://edeliver.co.za domain (“Website”) and delivery platform which include the mobile application called eDeliver on both Google’s Play Store as well as Apple’s App Store (the “app”) (the “Service”).
This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our Service and the choices you have associated with that data.
It is important that this policy be read together with the Terms and Conditions
Scope & Definitions
The Service provided by eDeliver is only provided to residents of South Africa. If you are not a resident, physically located in South Africa, then you are not allowed to use our Service.
This policy is relevant only in South Africa.
“Customer” means any user that register and use our Platform to purchase goods for delivery.
“Store” means any user that register as a store on our Platform that offer goods for sale on our Platform
“Driver” means any user that register as a driver on our Platform that offers to pick-up goods at a Store’s phsyical address and delivers it to a Customer’s delivery address
Information Collection And Use
We collect several different types of information for various purposes to provide and improve our Service to you. Following are the types of data we collect:
While using our Service, we may ask you to provide us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify you (“Personal Data”).
Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to:
- Email address
- First name and last name
- Phone number
- Physical Address, Province, Postal code, City
- Identity Number
- Cookies and Usage Data
- Geolocation tracking inside our mobile app
- Data created during use of the Services and may include data such as location, app usage and device data
The above may be referred to as “personal information”, “collected data”, “personal data” or “data” in this policy.
We may also collect information how the Service is accessed and used (“Usage Data”). This Usage Data may include information such as your computer’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that you visit, the time and date of your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
Tracking & Cookies Data
Cookies are files with small amount of data which may include an anonymous unique identifier. Cookies are sent to your browser from a website and stored on your device. Tracking technologies also used are beacons, tags, and scripts to collect and track information and to improve and analyze our Service.
You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is being sent. However, if you do not accept cookies, you may not be able to use some portions of our Service.

- Session Cookies.We use Session Cookies to operate our Service.
- Preference Cookies.We use Preference Cookies to remember your preferences and various settings.
- Security Cookies.We use Security Cookies for security purposes.
We collect precise or approximate location data from Drivers and Customers’ mobile devices if they enable us to do so. eDeliver collects this data from the time a Driver accepts delivery of an order placed by a Customer and accepted by a Store until the order is delivered, and any time the app is running in the foreground of their mobile device. We use this data to enhance your use of our apps, including to improve pick-up and delivery locations, enable safety features, and prevent and detect fraud.
When you are appointed as a Driver by eDeliver, it is important to note that we collect location data via the app while it is running either in the foreground (app is open and displayed on the screen) or in the background (app is open but not visible on the screen) while you make use of the mobile app.
Use of Data
eDeliver uses the collected data for various purposes, which may include:
- To provide and maintain the Service
- To notify you about changes to our Service
- To allow you to participate in interactive features of our Service when you choose to do so
- To provide customer care and support
- To provide analysis or valuable information so that we can improve the Service
- To monitor the usage of the Service
- To enable communication between users of the mobile app
- To detect, prevent and address technical issues
- To disclose your data to Stores and Drivers for purposes of delivering items to you that you purchased via the Platform
- For any legal proceedings
Unless you explicitly agree to it, we will never sell your collected data to any third party.
We will also never send you unsolicited emails, you must indicate at sign up (and on the Platform thereafter) if you wish to receive marketing messages from us in the future.
Transactional notifications such as emails and sms’s shall always be sent to you, regardless of whether you “opted-in” or not, this is to safeguard your profile and to report to you any activity of a financial nature on your profile. If you no longer wish to receive transactional notifications then you need to inform us in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org
Transfer Of Data
Your information, including Personal Data, may be transferred to — and maintained on — computers located outside of your state, province, country or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ than those from your jurisdiction.
If you are located outside South Africa and choose to provide information to us, please note that we transfer the data, including Personal Data, to South Africa and process it there.
Disclosure Of Data
eDeliver may disclose your Personal Data in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to:
- To comply with a legal obligation
- To protect and defend the rights or property of eDeliver
- To prevent or investigate possible wrongdoing in connection with the Service
- To protect the personal safety of users of the Service or the public
- To protect against legal liability
- To fulfil the order transaction, you have placed via the eDeliver platform
We will also ensure that all of our owners, directors, officers, employees, contractors and other associates or third-parties we deal with and need access to your personal data or information shall keep such information private and confidential by means of a contractual obligation in relation to keep such information private and confidential.
Security Of Data
The security of your data is important to us, but remember that no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage is 100% secure. While we strive to use commercially acceptable means to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
We may employ third party companies and individuals to facilitate our Service (“Service Providers”), to provide the Service on our behalf, to perform Service-related services or to assist us in analyzing how our Service is used.
These third parties have access to your Personal Data only to perform these tasks on our behalf and are obligated not to disclose or use it for any other purpose.
We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.
- Google Analytics
Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our Service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).
We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from anyone under the age of 18. If you are a parent or guardian and you are aware that your Children has provided us with Personal Data, please contact us. If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.
Changes to your Personal Information
Should your personal information change, please inform us and provide us with updates to your personal information as soon as possible to ensure your information is kept up to date.
